
Chief of the Nkoya people of Kaoma district, Chief Yuvwenu has urged his subjects to work closely with the Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) in order to foster development in the area.
The traditional leader was speaking on October 31, 20121 during a land marking exercise of the ZCS training school at Nyango in Kaoma district within his chiefdom.
And Western Province Senior Planning Assistant Officer John Phiri, reiterated government’s commitment to bring development closer to the people even through such an exercise.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commanding officer at the training school, Senior Assistant Commissioner Joseph Masengo expressed happiness that the talks to establish boundaries of the school are now a reality.
Nyango is a former camp of the Namibian freedom fighters in the 1980s and later in 2005, an Open-Air Farm under the Prisons Service then was opened.
In 2018 a Training School was then established at Nyango with capacity to host over 1500 trainees besides the Kabwe Staff Training College with capacity of about 250 at a go.
Total number of hector’s allocated to Nyango will be known once the demarcation exercise is complete.
