Northwestern Provincial Coodinator for the Intergrated National Registration Information System (INRIS) Moses Samusunga has says that the program will prevent anomalies of shared personal identity details such as same identity numbers.
He said that issues such as two or more people having the same identity number have prevented some persons from accessing to vital services such as the 20% NAPSA partial withdraw.
Mr Samusunga who is also the Provincial Registrar for Northwestern revealed that the exercise is running for 80 days and currently on day 45.
“The target is to enroll at least 250,000 people and so far in 45 days, over 100,000 have had their NRC details verified and enrolled. This is inclusive of the newly registered, ” Mr. Samusunga said.
Meanwhile, Kapata Fari a resident of Kimiteto in Solwezi said that the digital and biometrical identity system will tighten security of National Identity.
He added that cases of impersonation by use of forged identity documents will be a thing of the past.
This was when officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Public Relations Office paid a courtesy call on the Provincial Registrar and later visited the NIRIS enrollment sites within Solwezi District today.
