GROWING OLD IS A RISK FACTOR FOR MOB JUSTICE IN AFRICA

“I have traveled the country conducting forensic exhumations and postmortem examinations for the last seven (7) years now, and it is now obvious to me that villagers have an interest in knowing the causes of death among their members. In particular, a sudden or unexpected death signals danger from within the village.

The villagers, therefore conduct , forensic investigations with the aid of the medicine men, who then accuse the elderly in the village of practicing witchcraft thereby causing deaths in the village. The elderly are then brutally killed by the mob in the village.

The killings MUST END.”

-Dr. Luchenga Mucheleng’anga-
