The Department is charged with the responsibility of coordinating all research, planning, budgeting, information technology, and international agreements activities in the Ministry. The Department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating projects and programmes as well as the review and analysis of policies under the Ministry.

Objectives

• To develop and manage an integrated management information system in order to enhance operational efficiency;
• To provide policy and legal frameworks in order to respond to emerging internal security challenges;
• To plan, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of Ministerial policies, plans and programmes in order to ensure attainment of set objectives;
• To promote regional and international cooperation in order to enhance internal and regional security; and
• To plan and research in emerging security issues in order to provide information for effective decision-making.
