PUBLIC NOTICE
The National Forensic Authority created by an Act of Parliament No. 2 of 2020 is
mandated to regulate the practice of forensic science and forensic pathology; and
provide for the licensing of forensic service providers in Zambia.
In line with its mandate, the National Forensic Authority wishes to inform members of the
general public, Forensic Science service providers, Forensic Pathology service providers,
Law Enforcement Agencies and other stakeholders that the following has been published
in the Government Gazette;

The National Forensic Authority (NFA) wishes to inform you that the Authority provides ethical clearance of all research studies in Forensic Science and Forensic Pathology through the Forensic Research Ethics Committee (FREC).
One of the key mandates of National Forensic Authority is to regulate forensic research in Zambia. In line with this mandate, the Authority has established and operationalized the Forensic Research Ethics Committee (FREC) to review and approve all proposed research in forensic.
All individuals, training institutions or organizations intending to conduct research in forensic science and forensic pathology are required to obtain ethical clearance from the Forensic Research Ethics Committee (FREC).
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR MANAGEMENT OF DNA EVIDENTIAL MATERIAL AND PRACTICE OF FORENSIC PATHOLOGY IN ZAMBIA
Are you a service provider, laboratory or facility providing any of the following forensic services in Zambia;
The National Forensic Authority has issued general guidelines in the Government gazette No. 189 of 2024 and No. 190 of 2024. All affected service providers, laboratories or facilities are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the published general guidelines. Copies of the guidelines can be assessed through Government Printers.
